about

This song was inspired by a story from the film HUMAN (www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdb4XGVTHkE), where a woman called Francine Christophe told her story of being in a Nazi concentration camp and her later life.

lyrics

I’ll gather my things,
and play with my rings,
all before we leave.
I’ll see you soon,
my dear hometown, blue
your trees will greet me with a smile
And on our way,
I’ll dream and play
with thoughts and things that I left behind

The train’s so fast,
la luna’s bright,
I wonder where we’ll be tonight

He said “Name and age?”
“Je m’appelle Francine, huit ans”
I don’t know what to do or where I am
Maman brought chocolat
in case I collapse,
but I don’t know why she thinks that I will fall

And in the night,
the screaming’s bright
I don’t know if she’ll be alright
If she’ll survive
